I love a great salad and recently I learned from a friend about chopping your salad so I created this Whole30 Chopped Salad, I hope that you enjoy it.

So why chop a salad? This was my first question. The benefit of chopping your salad is that the flavors are more evenly distributed in every bite so you get more flavor in each bite. This makes so much sense! Why haven’t I been doing this all along?

Chopped salads are also filled with fiber and healthy nutrients. And eating a salad a day can also help you loose weight and be fuller with less calories plus balance insulin levels.

Mezzaluna Chopper

Many people use a Mezzaluna Chopper to chop their salad. I use a chef knife but am buying a Mezzaluna to make the process easier. The benefit of using a Mezzaluna is you are chopping with two blades at once so the process is faster. Also a chefs knife doesn’t rock as easily as a Mezzanine so this also makes chopping your salads easier.

Let’s make our Whole30 Chopped Salad!

To make my salad I use about 2-3 cups of spring mix, I place it on my cutting board and chop until it is in small pieces then add it to my salad bowl. I use the salad bowl show below. I have two sets of these and use them for every meal, we love them so much that we hardly use plates anymore.

Next chop all of your other ingredients. This salad contains chives, avocado, carrots, two hard boiled eggs and cucumber. Add them to your bowl. Next we will add our salad dressing. I love garlic flavored olive oil and champagne vinegar. I use about a tablespoon of each. Just pour the dressing over the salad and them mix well. And you are now ready to enjoy your salad!
