Girasoles Rocks my Gluten-Free Life!
A quaint little restaurant with an amazing chef! I can’t say enough kind things about Chef Jose and his restaurant, Girasoles in Watkinsville, GA. As someone who has several food allergies, I find it very difficult to eat out and feel comfortable with my food choices. Often eating out can lead to issues if my food gets cross-contaminated or the staff isn’t conversant with gluten-free cooking. But Girasoles takes the worry out of it for me. Chef Jose knows all about food allergies, and he knows how to prepare food using gluten-free procedures.
One of the things I love about Girasoles is that Chef Jose will greet you at your table, introduce himself, and ask if there is anything special he can prepare for you. He will create anything that you want to eat, whether it’s on his printed menu or not. Every meal I have had at Girasoles, and I have had many, has been top-notch. Along with his fabulous food, Chef Jose gives me peace of mind that I won’t have to worry about my food allergies, I can just enjoy. My husband who has no food allergies thinks Girasoles is one of the best restaurants around. So whether you have food allergies or not it’s a fantastic place to eat.
This time at Girasoles I enjoyed a grass-fed steak, rice and beans, and veggies. All of it was just delicious. My wine was a Canyon Creek house wine that I get every time, the taste of the wine went great with my steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, it was tender and delicious. The beans and rice had such a unique taste and were made from scratch by Chef Jose. The veggies were sautéed in a balsamic vinaigrette that I couldn’t get enough of. I tried to coat my steak in it to it was so good. I can’t stop talking about my meal and look forward to going back as soon as possible for the exact same meal.
So whether you are gluten intolerant or not you can trust Chef Jose to prepare you a meal that is just amazing, you will not be disappointed.
