I have recently learned about resistant starches and how good they are for your gut so I created these Banana Flour Chocolate Pancakes. So what’s so great about resistant starch? It helps improve your gut health, it helps lower glucose levels, helps curb cravings by keeping you full longer, reduces inflammation, and helps with weight loss just to name a few.
You can get resistant starch from green bananas, yams, potatoes, rice, and potato starch. I love adding potato starch to my morning smoothies- it keeps me full for a long time, therefore I eat less during the day. I have been using resistant starch for a week and I have noticed less belly bloat and I am more regular than normal.
When I add it to a morning smoothie about 8 I am full until almost 2:00! This is a girl that gets hangry if she skips a meal and who normally can’t live on a smoothie. I am going to keep adding this daily to my diet and see if this helps with my inflammation and weight gain. Do your research and talk to your doctor about adding resistant starch to your diet.
I purchased some banana flour and decided to give it a try. The first recipe I tried I found online by Feasting on Fruit and loved it so I started searching for more recipes and discovered that there just aren’t that many. So I knew I had to create some.
My first recipe creation using banana flour was pancakes, and they came out really great!! They are super easy. Just add all ingredients to a bowl and stir to combine. Then cook on a griddle. You can add toppings when they are done or add some when you pour them into the pan. I added chocolate chips, yummy!
