Pizza By The Sea Review
Everyone says that the beach is a little bit of heaven. Well add a gluten and dairy-free pizza from Pizza By the Sea and that’s what you’ve got!
I first visited Pizza By The Sea in July, and I just got back from my second visit. Each time, I was greeted by the friendly staff and funky décor. Customer-decorated pizza trays line the walls so no two trays are the same. It’s a very fun and family-friendly atmosphere. But if you don’t have the family with you, as we didn’t, it’s still just as fun and relaxing.
If you have a gluten intolerance it’s always concerning when you eat out because you never know if your food will be cross-contaminated, meaning regular flour gets mixed with the gluten-free flour then causing a reaction. They inquired about it and made sure the chef was aware of it which made me feel at ease. All gluten-free dough at Pizza by the Sea is prepared in an offsite kitchen to prevent any cross-contamination. It is cooked in the same oven as a regular pizza but is cooked on a screen and finished on a baking stone in the oven. While Pizza by the Sea tries their very best to prevent cross-contamination that can’t be guaranteed. However, I have not had any problems with this in my two visits here.
You may think you will give up the flavor with a gluten-free pizza, but not at, Pizza by the Sea! I had a flavorful, crunchy pizza topped with dairy-free cheese, garlic, onions, and basil. The crust was perfectly cooked, crunchy, and very tasty. My cheese was melted and stringy, and all of the flavors came together nicely. I had no problem finishing off my pizza! As a gluten and dairy-free girl, I rarely get to eat pizza so this was a real treat for me. Not only was I eating delicious pizza, I was at my favorite place Seagrove Beach, Florida. Every time I visit Seagrove Beach, I will have PBTS pizza. I’m already looking forward to it.
Pizza by the Sea isn’t just for those with a gluten intolerance, they have a wide menu to please everyone. On our first visit, my family got two large pizzas and there wasn’t a slice left. Their pizzas were delicious. My husband ate their spinach salad both times he has been there. He really enjoyed it as well as their No-Noodle Meatball lasagna.
So bring the family, there is something for everyone!
To sum it all up, PBTS is a mouthwatering, delicious bit of heaven! They have even voted Best Pizza on 30-A along with several other awards! So, if you are in the area visit PBTS at one of their two locations. For more information, visit their webpage at www.pizzabythesea.com.
